The results obtained in a fertilizer trial of subterranean clover which was carried out in the coastal zone of the province of Valparaíso at the Hacienda Concón Bajo in Concón, between 1960 and 1962, are set forth in this study. The result obtained show that there is an enormous response to the applications of phosphate, to such an extent that without this element it is impossible to cultivate subterranean clover. No responses to potash, nitrogen andminor elements were observed.
