A computer model was applied to a 23 year data base of meteorological information (1965-1987) kept at the Agricultural Experiment Station of the University of Concepción, Chile. The minimum number of suitable days was estimated using the Cumulative Empirical Probability distribution.
The main conclusions obtained at are:
- Suitable days for harvesting operations in the irrigated Central Valley are abundant; however suitable days for soil management are scarcer.
- The wheat seeding dates recomendations during may, june and july in the irrigated Central Valley of de Ñuble province are quite risky; these research results should be taken into account for future planning.
