A revision of the studies on Chilean wild and cultivated potatoes is presented in this papel'. A key for the identification of the four series and nine species of the genus Solanum, section Tuberarium, and a critical study of them, according to the botanical description, habitat, phytogeography, .synonyms and agronomic characters, are included.
