A trial was conducted, at La Platina Experiment Station, to study the effects of Diuron, CIPC, Linuron, Prometrina and Butisan herbicides, hand weeding and no weed control on garlic bulbs yield.
Larger yields of commercial garlic bulbs were obtained with preemergence applications of Diuron +CIPC (1.2 + 4.0 Kg I.A/ha), and postemergence applications of Linuron (0.75 Kg I.A/ha) and Prometrina (0.75 Kg I.A/ha), as compared with the hand weeding check, Satisfactory yields, of garlic bulbs were obtained with preemergence applications of Linuron (1.5 Kg I.A/ha); Prometrina (1.0 Kg I.A/ha), Linuron + CIPC (0.75 +4.0 Kg I.A/ha), Butisan + CIPC (4.0 +4.0 Kg I.A/ha); Diuron + CIPC (0.8 +4.0 Kg I.A/ha) and postemergence applications of Diuron (1.6 Kg I.A/ha.).
