The areas of Bulnes - Los Angeles - Collipulli and Purranque - Frutillar were studied to assess their climatic characteristics.
Pluviometric data was available in each of the local meteorological Stations. Thermometric and higrometric data was only available from the Stations of Los Angeles in the north, and Frutillar in the south; therefore the pertinent conclusions were extrapolated to the other locations, having always in mind the latitude and the most outstanding orographic accidents.
Two climatic regions were then clearly identifieble.
1.-Los Angeles region - Mean temperatures from 13°C to 15°C and absolute temperatures over 36°C in summer and -5° in winter. Thus, there is a high mean thermical opposition: 12°C to 13°C.
The annual rainfan from north to south rises from 1.100 to 1.400 mm. A high concentration is detected in the autumn and winter months, (77%), and when related to the temperatures gives a dry and a rainy season of about 6 month each.
2.-Frutillar region - Mean temperatures from 10°C to 12°C and absolute temperatures over 30°C in full summer days and almost -7° winter.
The mean thermical opposition is of almost 8°C.
Yearly rainfall varies from 1.500 to 1.600 mm. a 70% of which is concentrated in autumn and winter months.
Nevertheless, its amount and distribution durin.lg the spring and summer seasons when related with the temperatures, do not produce a dry month.
