Candela-INIA is a winter bread wheat cultivar (Triticum aestivum L.) released by the Wheat Breeding Programme at the Ouilamapu Research Station (INIA, Chillán). It is a semidwarf cultivar, with prostrate growth habit and good agronomic type. It has awned white heads. The kernels are soft in texture, light brown color and ovoid shape. Candela-INlA is resistant to strip rust, moderately susceptible to leaf rust and susceptible to stem rusl. Its grain yield is higher than Laurel-INIA. It is a soft wheat with test weight around 80 kg/hl. It is recomended for fall sowing in the south central area, specially at the foot-hill area.
